Bringing light to the deep

Precious and technical. Majestic and innovative. A bright watch for the dark abyss. The new version of the Rolex Deepsea is engineered to shine into the ocean depths. The first Rolex deep-sea divers’ watch in 18 ct yellow gold, it is decked in blue and features an as-yet-unseen combination of materials: gold is paired with elements in ceramic and RLX titanium. In so doing, the watch exemplifies our expertise in materials and colours.

Blue ceramic compression ring

Withstanding extreme pressure

The compression ring is made from blue ceramic, a technical innovation that marks a new way of integrating this material into the watch case. This Cerachrom ring, which is decorated with a circular satin finish, forms part of the Ringlock system, a case architecture that enables the watch to withstand the colossal pressure of the abyss at depths of up to 3,900 metres (12,800 feet). The uniformity of colour between the dial, bezel insert and compression ring is a triumph, accentuated by the 18 ct yellow gold of the case and the Oyster bracelet.

18 ct yellow gold

A unique shine

This divers’ watch is presented in 18 ct yellow gold for the first time. Unique in the watchmaking world, Rolex has chosen to be in complete control of the creation, casting and shaping of its 18 ct gold alloys by installing its own foundry. This allows us to produce gold alloys of the highest quality, notable for their exceptional purity and shine.
