Phil Mickelson
The “lefty” legend of golf
Phil Mickelson is one of golf’s most charismatic and accomplished figures, his career a testament to his skill, perseverance and unwavering passion for the game.
This is an incredible feeling because I just believed that it was possible, but yet everything was saying it wasn’t and I hope that others find that inspiration. It might take a little bit of extra work, a little bit of harder effort to maintain physically or maintain the skills, but gosh, is it worth it in the end, and I am so appreciative to be holding this Wanamaker Trophy.

A stellar progression
Phil Mickelson’s daring play and engaging personality have endeared him to golf fans worldwide.
His journey to golfing greatness began with a stellar amateur career, highlighted by three individual National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) championships while attending Arizona State University. He achieved an extremely rare feat for an amateur by winning a PGA TOUR® tournament, the 1991 Tucson Open. Turning professional the following year, he swiftly made his mark on the tour, and, over the next decade, claimed his share of titles while regularly being in contention at major championships. Mickelson broke through to win the Masters Tournament in 2004, a victory that opened the floodgates as more major titles followed. With additional victories at the Augusta National Golf Club in 2006 and 2010, Mickelson became one of only six players with at least three Masters titles.
In 2021, at age 50, Mickelson defied expectations by winning the PGA Championship to become the oldest major champion and further solidify his legacy as one of golf’s all-time greats. Throughout his illustrious career, Mickelson has embodied the pursuit of excellence.
Phil Mickelson became a Rolex Testimonee in 1992.
