Pushing Boundaries

Until the very last second

Mastering the power of mechanics to defy the laws of time. Controlling risk to determine the ideal trajectory. And holding on to victory.

The quest for technical advancement lies at the heart of Rolex’s ties with motor sport. These links date back to the 1930s, when the World Land Speed Record was repeatedly broken. Today, Rolex is a major partner of high-level endurance championships, the most emblematic events and the most remarkable names in the sport.

The machine is nearly everything, its power, stability and balance. The driver, allowing for his experience and courage, is much less.

From the earliest records

The shared history between Rolex and motor sport began in the early 1930s, when racing driver Sir Malcolm Campbell set the World Land Speed Record on multiple occasions. On his wrist, he wore an Oyster, which he exposed to the extreme vibrations, accelerations and decelerations of motor racing.

The mechanics of progress

Doing better with less. Achieving energy efficiency while pushing the limits of performance. This is the defining challenge for racing teams and manufacturers today. Rolex has always been committed to the dynamic of progress, and is supporting motor sport in this profound transformation.

You carry a win at Le Mans with you forever. When I think about the history of the race and Rolex’s commitment to motor sport, I feel very proud, but also humbled.

Triple crown of endurance racing

Races that have shaped motor sport history. Tracks on which the future of the discipline continues to be written. In endurance racing, the “triple crown” refers to the three most important events in the sport’s calendar, all of which Rolex supports as major partner and Official Timepiece: the Rolex 24 At DAYTONA, the 24 Hours of Le Mans and the 12 Hours of Sebring.

24 hours of Le Mans

Winning these three events is a significant feat. The Rolex 24 At DAYTONA takes place at Daytona International Speedway, comprising a superspeedway (longer than 2.5 miles or 4 kilometres) whose banked turns require extreme precision and the utmost concentration. The 24 Hours of Le Mans tests both the physical and mental stamina of drivers, with a course known particularly for its difficulty come nightfall. The 12 Hours of Sebring, with its irregular surface, is a true test of mechanical reliability.

Through its partnership with these endurance races, deemed the most challenging, Rolex affirms its long-standing commitment to motor sport.

Partnering with the leading organizations

Rolex enjoys partnerships with the most important endurance races. Since 2001, the brand has supported the 24 Hours of Le Mans, organized by the Automobile Club de l’Ouest (ACO), which also oversees the FIA World Endurance Championship (WEC) – the premier international sports car racing series. Rolex has been a partner of the Championship since 2016.

In 2025, Rolex became the Official Timepiece of the International Motor Sports Association (IMSA) and its racing series, the WeatherTech SportsCar Championship, held in the United States and Canada.

These partnerships complement one that the brand has maintained since 1959 with Daytona International Speedway, the legendary circuit that hosts the Rolex 24 At DAYTONA.
