  • Mercedes Gleitze1927 – Mercedes Gleitze swam across the English channel equipped with an Oyster watch.
  • The Rolex Oyster1930 – Rolex advertisement with aviator Captain C.D. Barnard, proving the watch’s capabilities for pilots and at high altitudes.
  • Bluebird1935 – Sir Malcolm Campbell set his ultimate official world record at the Bonneville Salt Flats in Utah.
  • Sir Edmund Hillary and Tenzing Norgay Sherpa1953 – Sir Edmund Hillary and Tenzing Norgay became the first to reach the summit of Mount Everest.
  • Bathyscaphe Trieste1960 – Jacques Piccard and Don Walsh, in the bathyscaphe Trieste, carried an experimental Oyster watch to a record depth in the Mariana Trench.
  • Astronaut John L. SwigertAstronaut John L. Swigert, Jr. of Apollo 13 wore his Oyster Perpetual GMT-Master watch during the lunar mission.
  • Sylvia Earle1970s – Dr Sylvia Earle in the Tektite underwater habitat, a scientific programme equipped with Rolex watches.
  • Haroun Tazieff1970s – Caver and volcanologist Haroun Tazieff adopted the Explorer II, which he wore over his thermal suit in the heat of eruptions.
  • Haroun Tazieff1974 – Rolex advertisement “Rolex went under at the North Pole” featuring an expedition with divers who wore the Submariner.
  • Deepsea Under The Pole2010 – The Deepsea Under the Pole by Rolex expedition gained knowledge of the submerged side of the Arctic.
  • Rune GjlednesBelgian polar explorer Alain Hubert has taken part in mountaineering and polar expeditions to the South and North Poles.
  • DEEPSEA CHALLENGE2012 – James Cameron achieved a record solo dive to the deepest point in the ocean in the DEEPSEA CHALLENGER submersible.
