Three additional testing criteria
New Superlative Chronometer certification
In 2026, Rolex adopts an even more exacting Superlative Chronometer certification, symbolized, as ever, by the green seal.
In 2026, Rolex reaffirms its commitment to wearers of the brand’s watches by strengthening its Superlative Chronometer certification. Three additional new testing criteria – resistance to magnetism, reliability and sustainability – are now implemented during the design and manufacturing stages of each timepiece. They supplement the criteria established when the certification was redefined in 2015, governing precision, waterproofness, self-winding and autonomy (power reserve), which are validated during tests conducted on the finished watch.
The Superlative Chronometer certification is strictly controlled by internationally recognized, independent Swiss entities. Symbolized by a green seal, it is based on the brand’s seven pillars of watchmaking excellence, and guarantees excellent performance on the wrist for every Rolex watch.
