Anna Nordqvist has carved her name in the annals of professional golf with a series of outstanding achievements.
The three major championships she has won – the 2009 LPGA Championship, 2017 Amundi Evian Championship and 2021 AIG Women’s Open – are testament to her exceptional talent and enduring consistency on the course.
Long and glorious career
Anna Nordqvist’s journey began in her native Sweden, where her prodigious talent for golf quickly became evident.
Turning professional in 2008, she made an immediate impact by winning the KPMG Women’s PGA Championship the very next year, an extraordinary feat accomplished in just her fifth start on the LPGA Tour. Her career has been defined by consistent excellence, highlighted by her three major victories. Furthermore, she has amassed more than 70 top-10 finishes on the LPGA Tour and been named Swedish Golfer of the Year three times. She is only the second golfer to achieve The R&A treble, winning the Girls Amateur Championship, the Women’s Amateur Championship and the AIG Women’s Open. These achievements have cemented her place among the elite players in the women’s game. Nordqvist has also been an integral member of Europe’s Solheim Cup team for more than a decade, playing in nine consecutive editions of the leading women’s team competition and helping the Europeans to five victories over their American opponents.
