Instant impact

Jackson Koivun became only the third player to join the PGA TOUR® through PGA TOUR University Accelerated, a scheme that grants tour membership based on a young player’s college achievements.

Following the 2026 U.S. Open, his final event as an amateur, he turned professional and made an immediate impact. In his third start, he claimed a maiden title at the 3M Open with a tournament-record score of 25 under par.

As an amateur, Koivun had already established his credentials on the international stage when representing the United States at the 2025 Walker Cup, and in two Arnold Palmer Cups, the collegiate team event between Team USA and Team International.

Record breaker

Born in San Jose, California, Koivun rewrote the record books during three outstanding seasons at Auburn University from 2023 to 2026. He set all-time records for career victories, career scoring average and single-season scoring average. In 2024 and 2026, he claimed the Ben Hogan Award, Jack Nicklaus Award and Fred Haskins Award, which all recognise the season’s most outstanding male collegiate golfer.

As a freshman, he became the first player in history to sweep all four major collegiate individual awards in a single season; the aforementioned three plus the Phil Mickelson Award as the most outstanding first-year player. In 2024 and 2026, Koivun helped lead Auburn to National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) team titles. In 2025, he received the Mark H. McCormack Medal as the world’s No. 1 amateur, joining an illustrious list of past recipients that includes fellow Rolex Testimonees Matt Fitzpatrick and Jon Rahm.

Jackson Koivun became a Rolex Testimonee in 2026.
