A towering outdoor test
Rolex has been a Partner of the CSIO Spruce Meadows ‘Masters’ Tournament since 1989 and became Presenting Sponsor of the CPKC ‘International’ Grand Prix in 2014.
Held annually in Calgary, Canada, it is one of the most prestigious outdoor equestrian events in the world, renowned for its uncompromising courses, stunning setting and championship-level competition. It is one of the defining tests in international show jumping.
A unique proving ground
Founded by Ron and Margaret Southern, Spruce Meadows began in 1971 when the family purchased 80 acres of farmland near the foothills of the Rocky Mountains, with the official opening ceremony taking place four years later. Built with the ambition of creating a facility capable of hosting the highest level of international equestrian sport, the venue remains wholly owned and operated by the Southern family. From its earliest editions, the event was designed to challenge the best, combining technical course design with natural obstacles and an expansive grass surface.
Each September, the event attracts tens of thousands of spectators over five days of competition. Its centrepiece, the CPKC ‘International’ Grand Prix, presented by Rolex, is renowned for its scale and difficulty, demanding power, precision and stamina.
