Garbiñe Muguruza made a big impact on tennis with her impressive achievements and versatile playing style.

The Spanish-Venezuelan’s breakthrough came in 2014 when she reached the fourth round of the Australian Open and defeated former World No. 1 Caroline Wozniacki. Her first major victory came in 2016 when she triumphed at Roland-Garros to claim her maiden Grand Slam® singles title. She won a second one a year later at Wimbledon.

Muguruza’s powerful groundstrokes and aggressive style of play propelled her to the world No. 1 ranking in September 2017.

Her career highlights also include reaching two more Grand Slam® finals – at The Championships, Wimbledon, in 2015 and at the Australian Open in 2020 – and winning the prestigious WTA Finals in 2021. Her ability to excel on different surfaces is evident in her success across various tournaments, on clay, grass and hard courts.
