Day-Date

Technical wonder

Please choose another model

Exclusive innovations for a unique watch.

When it was released in 1956, the Oyster Perpetual Day-Date was the only watch to display – in addition to the date – the day of the week spelt out in full, available in more than 20 languages. This innovation joined three other Rolex fundamentals: chronometric precision, waterproofness and automatic winding. Offered exclusively in precious metals, the Day-Date is available in a 36 mm or 40 mm diameter and is always paired with its iconic President bracelet. A wide variety of versions allows each wearer to find a watch that reflects their personality.

Day-Date

Day and date
A midnight miracle

On the Day-Date, the date and day of the week displays rely on an interconnected disc mechanism. When midnight strikes, these two indicators change over in the blink of an eye.

The President bracelet
Prestigious and refined

Designed especially for the Day-Date at its launch in 1956, the President bracelet brilliantly showcases the watch’s prestige.

The fluted bezel
A closely guarded secret

Yesterday, a functional attribute. Today, a signature feature. The fluted bezel that adorns Classic Rolex watches is crafted exclusively in 18 kt gold or 950 platinum.

A diversity of dials
Faces of excellence

Designs, materials, finishes, colours: the dial of the Day-Date is available in a wide array of variations, reflecting the breadth and depth of Rolex’s expertise.

The Rolex foundry
Mastering gold

Rolex watches in 18 kt gold possess a truly captivating radiance, born of years of research and development in order to perfect the casting of precious metals.

Calibre 3255

Calibre 3255
A state-of-the-art movement

The Day-Date 36 and the Day-Date 40 are equipped with calibre 3255. A consummate demonstration of various technologies, this self-winding mechanical movement is entirely developed and manufactured by Rolex.
