DiCaprio began his acting career as a child, later gaining critical acclaim for his sensitive performances in What's Eating Gilbert Grape (1993), This Boy’s Life (1993) and Romeo + Juliet (1996).
At 21 years of age, his career reached global prominence with Rolex Testimonee James Cameron’s multi-Oscar®-winning juggernaut Titanic (1997), where he captured the hearts of millions as romantic lead Jack Dawson. From there, DiCaprio has made compelling films through his partnership with Director Martin Scorsese, a fellow Testimonee, starring in works such as The Aviator (2004), The Departed (2006), The Wolf of Wall Street (2013) and Killers of the Flower Moon (2023). He also collaborates with other visionary filmmakers including Christopher Nolan (Inception, 2010) and Quentin Tarantino (Django Unchained, 2012 and Once Upon a Time in Hollywood, 2019). DiCaprio is renowned for his commitment to his craft, his performances have garnered BAFTAs, Golden Globes, and SAG Awards. In 2016, he won a long-awaited Academy Award® for Actor in a Leading Role for his role in Alejandro González Iñárritu’s The Revenant (2015) a survival story where he famously endured extreme cold and near hypothermia for the sake of authenticity.
Beyond Hollywood, DiCaprio is a climate champion who who draws attention to the need to preserve the environment. He established his first environmental foundation aged 24. More recently, he founded Re:wild in 2021, which focuses on the protection of the world’s last wild places and addresses climate change. He has produced numerous documentaries such as Before the Flood (2016) and Ice on Fire (2019), which highlight the urgency of environmental action.
DiCaprio also serves as a United Nations Messenger of Peace, using his platform to address climate change at global summits and directly support various conservation projects worldwide.
