Lexi Thompson’s golf journey began in Florida, where she displayed prodigious talent from a very young age.
In 2007, as a 12-year-old, she became the youngest player at the time to qualify for the U.S. Women’s Open. Turning professional at 15, she quickly made her mark by setting another then record as the youngest winner on the Ladies Professional Golf Association (LPGA) Tour at 16 with her victory at the 2011 at Navistar LPGA Classic. Her career highlights include capturing the 2014 Chevron Championship, her first major, and amassing 11 LPGA Tour victories. In 2017, she topped the Race to the CME Globe, the LPGA Tour’s season-long points competition, and won the Vare Trophy for the lowest scoring average. From 2013 to 2019, Thompson won at least one tournament each year, testament to her ability to consistently perform at the highest levels.
In addition to her individual successes, Thompson has been a key player at the Solheim Cup, representing the United States seven times at the leading women’s team competition and helping to lift the trophy on three occasions. She also represented the United States at the Rio and Tokyo Olympic Games.
