Tom Kristensen, widely regarded as the greatest endurance racing driver of all time, has left an indelible mark on the world of motor sport.
My experience of the 24 Hours of Le Mans means I have even more respect for what these drivers and teams have achieved over 24 hours. After all, it is this race that brought me into the Rolex family, and because of that Le Mans feels even more like home to me.

Mastering the art of endurance racing
Tom Kristensen started his racing career in karting before progressing to single-seaters and touring cars.
His talent and dedication quickly set him apart, leading to his first major success at the 1997 edition of the 24 Hours of Le Mans, securing victory with the Joest Racing team on his race debut. This triumph marked the beginning of an illustrious career in endurance racing.
Kristensen’s record at Le Mans is unrivalled, with nine overall victories, six of them consecutive, from 2000 to 2005. His mastery of the Circuit de la Sarthe, combined with his exceptional skill and endurance, earned him the nickname “Mr Le Mans”. In addition to his Le Mans successes, he won the 12 Hours of Sebring a record six times and claimed the FIA World Endurance Championship title in 2013.
