The Goodwood Revival is an immersive celebration of motor sport’s golden era between 1948 and 1966, welcoming racing legends as they rewind the clock and push the limits of prized historic automobiles.
As part of Rolex’s enduring commitment to motor sport dating back to the early 1930s, the brand has supported the Goodwood Revival for more than two decades as its Official Timepiece and Title Sponsor of the Rolex Drivers’ Club.
Held annually at the Goodwood Motor Circuit in West Sussex, England, the event is a one-of-a-kind celebration of mid-20th century motor racing. The meeting highlights a timeless appreciation for the past and creations from a bygone era. Drivers, mechanics and spectators, dressed in the fashions of the 1940s, 1950s and 1960s, celebrate the history of the automobile.
Launched in 1998, the Goodwood Revival sustains the flame of automotive tradition. The event features 16 races, held over three days, with some 300 cars and motorcycles, all emblematic of their time, competing in age and design categories.
The Goodwood Revival pays homage to the circuit’s original years of operation, when it was one of Britain’s premier racing venues. Under the patronage of the Duke of Richmond, the event has since become an annual fixture in the classic motor sport calendar.
The Revival features races across a range of categories, including Grand Prix cars from the 1950s and 1960s, GTs (grand touring), sports prototypes and saloon cars of the era. Each competition highlights the mechanical purity and technical ingenuity of a time before electronic assistance and data telemetry. Off-track, the event offers immersive displays, such as historic aircraft flyovers, vintage fashion shows and paddocks brimming with rare vehicles.
Rolex Testimonees Sir Jackie Stewart and Tom Kristensen regularly take part, purely for the pleasure of motor racing and their passion for classic cars.
