Holger Rune’s tennis journey began in Denmark where he showed incredible potential from a young age.
Winning the boys singles title at Roland-Garros in 2019 heralded the emergence of a special talent. Transitioning to the Association of Tennis Professionals (ATP) Tour, Rune has built a reputation for his strong groundstrokes and ability to adapt to various surfaces. In 2022, as a 19-year-old, he caused a sensation in the round of 16 at Roland-Garros when defeating World No. 3 Stéfanos Tsitsipás. Later in the year, he won his first ATP 1000 title when victorious at the Rolex Paris Masters and climbed to No. 10 in the PIF ATP Rankings. The following year, he made it consecutive quarter-final appearances at Roland-Garros, moved up to No. 4 in the world and qualified for the Nitto ATP Finals.
