To me, it’s the road to the destination that is also the definition of success. It’s really important that at the end of your career, you are very happy with yourself and what you’ve done – that you’ve reached your potential.

“It’s an honour and this watch will forever be in my memory.”

Belinda Bencic is leaving her mark on tennis.

She reached the quarter-finals of the US Open in 2014 at age 17, becoming the youngest player in more than 15 years to make it to that stage of the competition. After injuries halted her progress, the Swiss right-hander returned to form in 2019: she played her first Grand Slam® semi-final at the US Open, won two titles, made it to the last four of the season-ending WTA Finals and finished in the world’s top 10. Most recently she became her country’s first Olympic Games women's singles champion when taking gold at Tokyo 2020.
