Abu Dhabi HSBC Championship Presented by EGA
In January 2019, the Abu Dhabi HSBC Championship Presented by EGA became part of the Rolex Series, the first of eight prestigious tournaments in the European Tour’s Race to Dubai.

The event attracts some of the biggest names from the PGA TOUR and the European Tour for four days of high-intensity competition at the Abu Dhabi Golf Club. The showpiece tournament becomes the second in the UAE to be awarded Rolex Series status, joining the DP World Tour Championship, the finale of the European Tour’s Race to Dubai.

Rolex Testimonee and three-time Major winner Brooks Koepka was among the elite field at the Abu Dhabi Golf Club, finishing in ninth place, although his mere presence highlighted the tournament’s stature among the leading events in the Middle East and validated its promotion to the Rolex Series.

Dubai Duty Free Irish Open
The 2019 Dubai Duty Free Irish Open will be played at Lahinch Golf Club from 4–7 July. It will be a landmark moment for the tournament when it lands on the shores of County Clare for the first time in its 91-year history, building on the vision of the European Tour to take the event to Ireland’s greatest links courses.

Aberdeen Standard Investments Scottish Open
The Aberdeen Standard Investments Scottish Open returns to East Lothian in 2019, with The Renaissance Club in North Berwick hosting the tournament for the first time, from 11–14 July.

The event has previously been held at some of the finest courses in Scotland, including St Andrews – the Home of Golf – Gleneagles and Carnoustie.

This year, the 37th edition will be staged against the picturesque backdrop of the Firth of Forth, one of the newest additions to the world-famous stretch known as Scotland’s Golf Coast.

BMW PGA Championship
The BMW PGA Championship was founded in 1955 by the Professional Golfers’ Association, and today it is the European Tour’s flagship event, held at its headquarters at the Wentworth Club in Surrey, England. This year the 65th edition will take place from 19–22 September, the fourth of eight world-class events that make up the Rolex Series.

Italian Open
This year’s fifth Rolex Series event will be played at Olgiata Golf Club in Rome. Founded in 1925, the Italian Open has been on the European Tour’s schedule since the tour was founded in 1972 and this year’s 76th edition will take place from 10–13 October.

Rome has been chosen to host Italy’s pre-eminent golf event in preparation for the 2022 Ryder Cup, which will take place in the country’s ancient capital at the Marco Simone Golf & Country Club.

Turkish Airlines Open
The seventh edition of the Turkish Airlines Open will be played from 7–10 November at Carya Golf Club, Turkey’s first heathland-inspired golf course, located close to the Mediterranean Sea in Antalya’s Belek region.

This challenging venue has been a key date on the European Tour schedule since its inception in 2013.

Nedbank Golf Challenge
The Nedbank Golf Challenge is one of the highlights of the South African sporting calendar. In its 37-year history, the event has featured some of the biggest names in golf and takes place at the Gary Player Country Club in Sun City. The 2019 edition, to be held from 14–17 November, will be the penultimate event in the Race to Dubai.

The course at the Gary Player Country Club has been acknowledged since its opening in 1979 as South Africa’s premier championship test of golf.

DP World Tour Championship, Dubai
Established in 2009, the season-long Race to Dubai concludes at the DP World Tour Championship, with the leader of the Race to Dubai Rankings Presented by Rolex crowned alongside the tournament winner, wrapping up a season comprising 48 tournaments spanning some 30 countries.

Now in its 11th year, the DP World Tour Championship will once again be held at Jumeirah Golf Estates, against the backdrop of Dubai’s shimmering city skyline. Launched in 2017, the Rolex Series forms part of the Race to Dubai and presents a global programme of golfing showpieces on the European Tour, which Rolex has partnered since 1997.
