New Zealand teenage phenomenon Lydia Ko was just 17 when she topped the Rolex Women’s World Golf Rankings in early 2015. Later that year, she went on to win the Evian Championship at the Evian Resort Golf Club, becoming the youngest major winner in the history of women’s golf. By the year’s end, Ko became one of only four players ever to receive the Rolex Player of the Year award the season after being named Louise Suggs Rolex Rookie of the Year. The young star went on to win her second Major title at the 2016 ANA Inspiration.

To date, Thompson has earned titles on the Ladies European Tour, the LPGA Japan Tour in 2016, as well as seven LPGA wins, including her first Major victory in 2014 at the Kraft Nabisco Championship. Her commitment to the game and determination to succeed contribute to the excellence of one of the sport’s great players.

Anna Nordqvist is a leading contender in women’s golf. The Swede’s consistent high-level play has earned her a regular top-20 spot in the Rolex Rankings, as well as a place on the Solheim Cup’s European team since 2009. Nordqvist won her first professional tournament and Major, the LPGA Championship, in 2009, and has gone on to win an additional five LPGA titles since then. Nordqvist persists with dedication, in a perpetual pursuit of excellence worthy of a champion.

Brooke Henderson is a promising young Canadian player. Her four victories on the LPGA Tour include a Major win at the KPMG Women’s PGA Championship 2016, at only 18 years of age, becoming the second youngest Major winner ever. Since then she has remained in the Top 10 of the Rolex World Rankings.

Swedish golf legend Annika Sörenstam is one of the game’s strongest advocates. She won 10 Major titles and 72 LPGA victories over the course of her career. In order to inspire and honour the sport’s future talent, she put her name on the Rolex Annika Major Award. Sponsored by Rolex, the reward recognizes and celebrates the player who performed the best across all five of the women’s golf Majors. As part of a new tradition that started in 2014, the Rolex Annika Major Award is presented at the end of the Evian Championship tournament week.

A member of the World Golf Hall of Fame, the Swedish champion created the Rolex Annika Major Award, crowning the best player from the season’s Majors and perpetuating her active contribution to the development of the women’s game worldwide.
