Style of the Day-Date

The Day-Date has always embodied prestige and exclusivity. A hallmark of its nobility, the Day-Date’s Oyster case is produced exclusively in 950 platinum or in 18 ct gold. The bezel can be fluted, smooth or, on the gem-set versions, arrayed in the most beautiful of precious stones.
A choice of unique dials in refined colours and textures enhances this timeless symbol of excellence.

Spirit of the Day-Date

Rolex watches have long been associated with those who have, over time, guided the destiny of the world. No matter how different their vision, their field of excellence or their achievements, many of these exceptional men and women have one thing in common: the Day-Date.

Oyster Case

The Oyster case is guaranteed waterproof to a depth of 100 metres (330 feet). Its middle case is crafted exclusively from a solid block of 950 platinum or 18 ct gold. The fluted case back is hermetically screwed down with a special tool exclusive to Rolex.

Another core component in the watertight structure is the winding crown fitted with the patented Twinlock double waterproofness system, which screws down securely against the case. The sapphire crystal is clamped tight by the bezel. The Oyster case provides the high-precision Rolex movement with optimal protection from water, dust, pressure and shocks.

3155 Movement

The Day-Date is equipped with calibre 3155, a self‑winding mechanical movement entirely developed and manufactured by Rolex. It features a day and date calendar disc mechanism. Like all Rolex Perpetual movements, the 3155 is a certified Swiss chronometer, a designation reserved for high-precision watches that have successfully passed the Swiss Official Chronometer Testing Institute (COSC) tests. Its architecture, in common with all Oyster watch movements, makes it singularly reliable.
